Services

Three ways I can help.

Most clients need one of these. Some need all three. Either way, you get a clear scope and an honest recommendation before anything is built.

Website design & build

A considered, fast website that gives visitors a reason to get in touch — and makes it easy to do so.

  • New websites and rebuilds
  • Structure, copy and content guidance
  • Responsive, accessible build
  • SEO foundations and analytics

Typical timeline: 3–6 weeks

Care & maintenance

Your site stays fast, secure and current — without you having to think about it, or chase anyone.

  • Hosting, DNS and SSL managed
  • Backups and uptime monitoring
  • Updates and security patching
  • Monthly content changes included

From £30 per month

Custom development

When an off-the-shelf tool almost fits, but not quite. Scoped properly, built to last, documented on handover.

  • Internal tools and dashboards
  • API integrations and automations
  • Booking and enquiry flows
  • Data migration and performance rescue

Fixed quote or day rate

Selected work

Built, shipped, looked after.

A small portfolio, on purpose. Every project here is one I designed, built and still look after.

Charfield Christian Centre

A welcoming website for a village church: service times, events, sermons, giving and a clear invitation to visit on a Sunday. Designed to feel like the place itself — warm, unpretentious and easy to navigate.

  • Service times, events and sermons
  • Giving and contact enquiries
  • Easy content updates for the team

Bible Timeline

An independent project: a clear, fast way to explore the Bible's story across people, places and events. Built from scratch on a custom data model — launching soon.

Next

Your project here.

I keep a deliberately small client list so every project gets proper attention. There is room for one more this quarter.

Approach

No black boxes. No hand-offs.

You deal with the person doing the work, from the first conversation to the day you take the keys. That keeps things simple, quick and a good deal less expensive than an agency.

Book a free 30-minute call
  1. A proper conversation

Thirty minutes, free. We talk about what the site needs to do, who it is for, and what success looks like. You leave with an honest view of what is involved — even if that is “you don't need me for this”.

  2. A clear plan and a fixed price

You get a written scope, a timeline and a fixed quote. No hourly surprises, no scope creep quietly billed back to you. If something changes, we agree it before it happens.

  3. Built in the open

You have a staging link from the first week, with updates as things take shape. Feedback happens in the browser, not buried in a document. Nothing is a surprise at launch.

  4. Launch, then look after it

Handover includes training, short documentation and full ownership of your domain, code and accounts. Stay on a care plan, or take the keys and run it yourself — both are fine.

The studio

One developer.
Everything in hand.

I'm a developer based in Charfield, Gloucestershire. I built and maintain the Charfield Christian Centre website, and I'm currently building Bible Timeline — an independent tool for exploring the Bible's story.

Working with me means working with the person who actually writes the code. Fewer meetings, faster decisions, and a website that is still understandable two years from now.

I also work as a quiet build partner for designers and small agencies when they need extra development capacity.

— Founder

  • You own everything

Domain, code, content and accounts are yours from day one. No proprietary platform, no hostage situation.

  • Built to be fast

Performance and accessibility are part of the build, not an upsell. Light pages, sensible markup, no tracking bloat.

  • Plain English

Clear scopes, honest timelines and no jargon used to make simple things sound expensive.

  • Small by design

A handful of clients at a time, so the work gets attention and you get answers within a working day.

Pricing

Straightforward, fixed quotes.

The figures below are typical starting points, not a menu. After a short call you get one fixed price for the whole job — including the bits that usually get added later.

Landing page

from £600

One focused page for a launch, campaign or new venture. Copy guidance, design, build and analytics.

  • Single page, up to 6 sections
  • Mobile-first, accessible
  • Analytics and SEO basics

Typically 1–2 weeks

Custom build

from £3,000

Internal tools, integrations, booking flows, migrations and automations. Scoped and quoted as a fixed project.

  • Written technical scope
  • Staging environment and demos
  • Documentation on handover

Quoted per project

Care plan

from £30/month

For sites I have built — or ones I have taken over. Keeps everything patched, backed up and quietly working.

  • Hosting, backups and monitoring
  • Updates and security patching
  • One hour of content edits monthly

Month-to-month, cancel any time

All figures exclude VAT where applicable. Projects are 50% to start and 50% on launch. Care plans are rolling monthly — no long contract.

Questions

The things people ask first.

If yours is not here, just email — I answer every enquiry personally.

charfieldconsultancy@charfieldchristiancentre.com
How long does a website take?

A landing page is usually one to two weeks. A full business site is typically three to six weeks, depending mostly on content and feedback. You get a dated plan before we start, and a weekly update while it is in progress.

Can you work with my existing website?

Yes. I take on maintenance for sites built elsewhere, and I am happy to do a no-obligation review first. If the site is better rebuilt than patched, I will say so — and explain why.

Who owns the website when it is finished?

You do. The domain, the code, the content and every account are registered in your name. On handover you get the repositories, credentials and a short guide to keeping things running.

Do you provide hosting?

I set up and manage hosting — usually Cloudflare Pages or a comparable host — as part of a care plan. If you already have hosting you are happy with, I will work with it rather than move you for the sake of it.

What do you need from me?

Your logo if you have one, any existing content, a few sites you like the feel of, and a willingness to make decisions. I can help with copy, photography and structure — you do not need everything ready before we speak.

Do you work with agencies and designers?

Yes — a good share of my work is white-label build and maintenance for designers and small agencies. I can work to your designs, join client calls if that helps, and stay behind the scenes. Send the scope and timeline and I will tell you honestly whether I can fit it in.

Do you work outside Gloucestershire?

Yes. Most of the work happens remotely, and I work with clients across the UK. If you are local to Charfield or the surrounding villages, meeting in person is easy too.
