Privacy notice

Last updated: 6 November 2026

This notice explains how Charfield Consultancy handles personal information when you visit this website, contact me, or work with me on a project.

Who is responsible

Charfield Consultancy is a sole-trader web development practice based in Charfield, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, the business is the data controller for the information described here.

Contact: charfieldconsultancy@charfieldchristiancentre.com.

What I collect

  • Enquiry details. When you use the contact form or email me, I receive your name, email address, and any organisation, project details and budget information you choose to share.
  • Client records. If we work together, I keep the correspondence, project files and billing details needed to deliver and account for the work.
  • Technical information. The hosting provider may process basic server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability. I do not use these logs to identify visitors.

How I use it

I use your information to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, deliver agreed work, maintain the websites I look after, keep proper business records, and meet legal obligations such as tax and accounting.

I will not sell your information, and I will not add you to a marketing list without your clear consent.

Lawful basis

For enquiries and project work, processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract and to perform a contract with you. For business records and security, processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of running a small business and keeping systems safe. Where I ask for consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. Project and financial records are kept for up to six years after the end of the tax year, as required for UK accounting. Anything I do not need is deleted sooner.

Who else is involved

I use trusted service providers for hosting, email and — where a form service is connected — form delivery. They process information only on my instructions and under their own data protection terms. If a project requires another supplier, I will tell you before sharing anything.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not use third-party tracking. The site is served as static files, so there is no login or shopping basket to remember. If analytics are added in future, this notice will be updated and, where required, consent will be requested first.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to certain processing, or ask for it to be transferred. Email charfieldconsultancy@charfieldchristiancentre.com and I will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If this notice changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date. It is a plain-language summary, not legal advice.
